A great feature of windows XP (Professional) is, the ability to encrypt files. This feature keeps our files save and prevents others from accessing it. File encryption can be done by following this procedure, given below ;
Firstly, Click on START and then select MY DOCUMENTS. Now choose the folder you want to encrypt by pressing Right-click on it and selecting PROPERTIES.
On general Tab, click on ADVANCED and put a tick mark in the box for encrypt contents. Now Click OKAY two (2) times, after it a confirmation message (dialogue box) will appear for you to select Folder and all files in it or subfolders. Now, since all your folders (files selected) are encrypted so others wont be able to open them.
